Ensemble Bis-Quit Orchestra was created in 2002 in Saint-Petersburg.
Ensemble is the Laureate of numerous International competitions.
Repertoire of the ensemble includes more than 250 compositions in different genres, including Russian folk music, Classical music, Jazz, Country, Tango, Latino, Retro and Dance music.
Its programs represent a unique combination of Russian traditional musical instruments with saxophone and drum set.
Ensemble’s principle artists:
Andrey Antipov – balalaika contrabass;
Rustam Gafarov – balalaika prima;
Olga Evstafieva – domra alto;
Vladimir Maslov – percussion instruments;
Aleksandr Soshnikov – accordion;
Aleksey Strelko – saxophone.
All participants of the ensemble are professional musicians, graduates of the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory and St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
Average age of the participants is 27.
Ensemble has several show-programs with singers and dancers of different styles – from folk and classical to tango and jazz.
Since it’s creation ensemble Bis-Quit Orchestra has held 1500 concerts in Russia representing Saint-Petersburg in concert halls of Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Korea, Germany, Cuba, Austria, China, South-East Europe, Scotland, France and Norway.
Bis-Quit Orchestra had performances together with famous performers such as: Symphony Orchestra of Mariinsky Theatre, groups URIAH HEEP, Mashina Vremeni, Okean Elzy and others.
In addition to popular and folk music Bis-Quit Orchestra has several programs of serious classical repertoire. Among them - the program based on The Westside Story by L. Bernstein.
